Email to the deputy creative director at the guardian

images sent with the email :

Hello! My name is Megan Naylor- Wardle and I am just about to graduate from BA (Hons) Illustration at Leeds Arts University. I would love to send you some prints of my work, as I was wondering whether you could give me some feedback on them? I have been following The Guardian for a long time and it is fantastic to see that illustration is increasingly becoming an integral part of the paper and that it is being used to help communicate challenging and difficult issues.  Also, how the paper is promoting the creative industry as a whole. I am currently enjoying The Start podcasts, in particular Episode 8 about Will Self.  When I graduate, I will be becoming a freelance illustrator specialising in publishing and editorial illustration, so any feedback on my work would be greatly appreciated, as I am very keen hopefully one day to work with the paper. If are happy for me to send you some prints, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me – megannaylorwardle@gmail.com.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,
Megan

Dear Deanna Donegan,
Hello! My name is Megan Naylor- Wardle and I am just about to graduate from BA (Hons) Illustration at Leeds Arts University. I would love to send you some prints of my work, as I was wondering whether you could give me some feedback on them? I have been following The New Yorker for long time and it is fantastic to see that illustration is becoming an integral part of the magazine and that it is being used to help communicate challenging and difficult issues.  Also, I have been following your own illustration work and it is amazing, especially the piece you did for 212 Magazine which is stunning. I love how intricate and playful the composition is within the silhouette. When I graduate, I will be becoming a freelance illustrator specialising in publishing and editorial illustration, so any feedback on my work would be greatly appreciated, as I am very keen hopefully one day to work with the magazine. If are happy for me to send you some prints, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me – megannaylorwardle@gmail.com.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

Hello! My name is Megan Naylor- Wardle and I am just about to graduate from BA (Hons) Illustration at Leeds Arts University. I would love to send you some prints of my work, as I was wondering whether you could give me some feedback on them? I have been following The Folio Society for long time and I am captivated by the bespoke covers in which you commission different artists to create. Especially the fiction covers, in particular, The Lord of The Flies cover with the foiled silver eyes and most recently the cover and illustrations for The Handmaids Tale illustrated by Anna & Elena Balbusso. It is fantastic that you treasure books as physical objects of true value in a growing digital age. When I graduate, I will be becoming a freelance illustrator specialising in publishing and editorial illustration, so any feedback on my work would be greatly appreciated, as I am very keen hopefully one day to work with you. Volunteering at Elcaf

Saw an advertisement on instergram for Elcafs festival that is happening at the end of june and this is a fairly quite month for me , apart from setting up final exhibition at uni I have nothing really lined for the end of june. I plan to start the print club london internship in July in time   hanbury time so in june I though it would be good to get somthing in before then. At elcaf they run workshops ,  talks with current and uncoming artist both uk and international based. It is ideal for networking. Also you help set up different exhibitions in Nobrow HQ and at the event in hackney, and this is somthing that I need more experiance in. Hopefully should hear something back soon.

This is the paragraph I wrote on the appilcation from:

Hello ! my name is Megan , I am a freelance Illustrator about to graduate from Ba (Hons) Illustration at Leeds Arts University. Within my practise I specialises in narrative and sequential illustration for both publishing and editorial. However, alongside this I have been organising and running creative workshops for my current part time job at the university, as part of the ambassador team for 3 years. As part of this role I am often giving tours to large groups of people, explaining the different facilities we have at the university so I am confident in public speaking but the job has also allowed me to work with a wide range of people. As part of my final year dissertation I decide to carry out a series of self-initiated workshops in collaboration with the British Refugee Council. As part of the 4-month collaboration I ran and organised several prints based workshops for the Refugees and Asylum seekers, who use the council’s services. It was fantastic to use print as a tool to create positive impact and make it accessible, so the individuals who took part could try something new. I am also about to undertake an internship at Print Club London, supporting them in workshops and upcoming projects. Making the arts accessible it all is vital, just as much as it is promoting and support current and emerging professional, which is what elcaf does so well. I would be fantastic to help support elcaf and work within a vibrant and fun community.

Worried it might be too long but it covers all the key points I wanted to get across.
