Where are the holes in your practise?
- Concepts- can be weak- need to practise more with using simple and recognisable metaphors. I also ned to work on grasping exactly what I am trying to say within the images.
- Tend to do a lost of spot illustrations - needs to work on creating full images.
What worked, what didn't work?
- (Visually) Moby, batsford bird, civil rights 504, certain image in 505 - Adding colour to my process.
- Penguin - weak designs- could be due to a weakness in composition.
How did collaboration go ?
- Well, two people made communication and organisation easier for both partys involved.
- could have produced more work , we where really ambitious to being with but time contraints limited us.
- Networking is the key, contact more people specifically international magazines and papers- develop an understanding of what they are looking for. Could mention about the divide between britain and the rest of europe, conservatism. A nervousness. Levison enquiry - the regulation that have been out in place. gage a better understanding of the debate.
How do you make your work?
- very process driven.
- Lino to digital editing then screen printing.
- Editing digitally saves time and allows me to be more versatile with shapes and line I have created.
- I am going to have to adapt my process in order to fit with the time constraints that editorial has because at the moment my process is way to slow and needs adapting to fit the fast turn around required for this field.
- This could mean moving towards a more digital process in order to help me creates images faster.
- I need to take more risks with composition , I tend to go for the same layout but in 505 i tried this and it paid off so need to carry on doing this.
